Hi, I’m Yuhan Chen, a Master of Architecture graduate from Rice University in Houston, Texas, originally from Nanjing, China. I am an emerging architectural designer with a deep passion for enhancing the built environment and everyday life through thoughtful and innovative design.

I currently work as a technical architectural designer, contributing to the realization of design intent through executive architecture. In this role, I have worked on a 20k seat soccer stadium in California and a large-scale condominium tower in Houston, where I coordinate across multiple disciplines, cross-reference building and accessibility codes, produce clear and buildable construction drawings, and develop detailed architectural assemblies.

During my studies at Rice, I spent a semester studying in Paris in 2024, an experience that profoundly shaped my understanding of cities, public space, and architectural culture. I also participated in exchange programs at The University of Hong Kong in 2018 and Pohang University of Science and Technology in South Korea in 2019, further enriching my global perspective on urban environments and architectural practice.

My professional experience spans educational, institutional, and commercial projects across diverse regions and design cultures, including work at Arch11 in Denver, Architecture Research Office (ARO) in New York, Perkins&Will in Houston, and AZL Architects in Nanjing. Prior to Rice, I earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture from Nanjing University.

Beyond architecture, I am a baker, film photographer, and adventure enthusiast, constantly drawing inspiration from craft, observation, and the world around me.
